Mediation can minimize the stress and emotional damage to relationships caused by traditional litigation by promoting cooperation rather than alienation.

It is a very productive process, meaning it has the strong possibility of meeting the objective of conflict resolution. Also, it is not nearly so expensive as going to court and you do not have to give up control about the resolution to an outside party who may not decide in a way that is satisfying to you.

As a certified family mediator and family attorney, I often hear this from clients in the middle of mediating a litigated family case as they're considering the latest offer from the other party, aI'll take this offera"I just want this thing to be over.a

The athinga the client wants to get rid of is the legal action.

That statement is usually followed by a comment about how the client can't take it anymorea"can't take the tension and uncertainty generated by the case, the preparation for trial or depositions, and the money it is costing him or her to continue in litigation, etc.

The feeling of desperation and the hope for relief is clearly palpable in their words.

I’m not sure I understand the question, but having success does not mean you have a destination. I can be a successful person and be going no where in life and not have any goals.

I really enjoy the detail you wrote, it sounds like something you could find in a Tao Teh Ching book, I highly recommend you getting one, they’re wonderful and I have a great feeling you’d like them.

But you can attend to your personal/psychological/spiritual development without working in such a field. And working in such a field will not substitute for personal growth-work. As well, one needs to consider employability after you graduate. Academic (Ph.d/tenured professorship) & research opportunities are very limited.
